CarryLite ergo V2 comfort
Camera and/or video equipment can be extremely heavy. That’s why weight distribution, ergonomics, and comfort are particularly essential.
The Element backpack is therefore built around a specially developed carrying system that is unique among camera backpacks.
Ergonomically optimized for people up to approximately 178 cm tall, it guarantees an optimal fit for those with shorter backs. The Element Backpack 20L can also be worn by taller people, but to effectively take advantage of the weight relief provided by the ShiftPro hip belt, taller people should opt for the Element Backpack 30L.
After all, to get the best photo, you first need to reach your destination without any pain. The Element Line makes that possible.

Focus on reliable performance
When the going gets tough outdoors, you need to be able to rely on your equipment. The Element Line focuses on practical functions, relieving comfort and the best materials and parts that work perfectly for many years and protect your equipment.
Responsibly and sustainably manufactured & developed for high demands and ambitious goals.

ReGen AX Carbon Material
ReGen is a recycled yarn, 'regenerated' from 100% plastic waste. Every kilogram saves up to 7 kilograms of CO2 compared to conventional production.
AX Carbon reinforces the entire fabric with the characteristic grid structure that characterizes our Element Line. High-strength, bundled fibers multiply the tear resistance, durability and stability of the entire outer skin.
In addition to the ecological progress, the values for tensile strength, durability and weather resistance are first-class and are at the cutting edge of outdoor textile technology.
Equipped for demanding outdoor use, this compagnon Element protects your equipment and the planet you want to explore in equal measure.

Efficient through and through
Especially if you tend to avoid bulky, excessively heavy equipment to reach your goals as relaxed as possible, the Element backpack 20L offers a top-notch balance of versatile, generous storage space and yet compact, handy dimensions.
Especially for shorter individuals with shorter backs and slimmer builds, the amazing comfort and form factor can be beneficial, preventing you from overloading your compagnon.
Should you require more storage space for additional travel luggage or even bigger cameras, lenses, etc., there is the Element backpack 30L.
Comparison Series 1.0 vs 2.0
Element backpack Updates
Since its release, the Element backpack has been known worldwide for its functionality, quality, and especially its comfort. It went on to win numerous tests.
In May 2026, after many successful years, the new Element backpack 20L V2 is finally here.
Here you’ll find the most important information about the optimizations, new features, and improvements in the new series.
Element backpack Series 1.0
Element backpack Series 2.0
First generation of the CarryLite ergo carrying system. Awarded for excellent comfort.
Optimized shoulder strap design: improved memory foam padding for even more comfort when the backpack is heavy. Carefully revised shaping offers even better adjustment to different body sizes and shoulder circumferences.
No additional mounting options on the straps.
New, attached Molle system on the shoulder straps, which facilitates the attachment of accessories such as camera clips.
First generation Element padding.
The new ProTec padding is not only lighter and more space-saving, but with various step-down sizes and folding points, it always offers the possibility to perfectly mirror gear or stack it protectively. Even small lenses can be optimally fixed with the pads. The new intermediate steps double the versatility of the interior.
Length of the Velcro area for placing dividers ends after approx. 31cm.
The Velcro area of the storage space has been extended to the divider flap to the rolltop. This means that up to 20% more storage space can be used for individual layout and positioning of dividers as required.
Recycled ReGen Carbon AX
Recycled ReGen Carbon AX R of the new evolution stage, with significantly improved weather resistance and robustness due to optimizations in the layer structure of the high-tech laminate.
Laptop compartment with Velcro fastening strap.
Improved laptop compartment and additional tablet compartment with snap-in quick release and adjustable fixing strap for an ideal fit to your computer.
First generation CarryLite ergo carrying system.
Redesign of the back opening and strap position. Additionally, there is a new trolley/rolling suitcase strap in the ventilation channel of the carrying system. The new CarryLite ergo V2 also offers our new, particularly snug memory foam padding and a further improved Stormguard YKK zipper.
First generation ShiftPro belt with zippered hip pocket on the right and carabiner loop on the left.
New Performance ShiftPro hip belt, which offers particularly large, practical & weatherproof zippered hip pockets on both sides. Of course, the new ShiftPro hip belt is also removable.
Side quick access suitable for camera bodies up to common full-frame models.
Enlarged access opening with new geometry for easier, faster opening and compatibility with a wide variety of camera systems.
Water bottle and tripod sleeve made of stretch material.
Stretch bottle holder on the outside of the backpack reliably holds different water bottles thanks to new stretch neoprene.
Velcro mesh pockets with zipper.
New, two built-in stretch pockets conveniently store accessories and equipment of various sizes. From laptop charging cables to lens caps. In addition, 4 new ProTec dividers now also offer stretch pockets on one side of the padding.
Hidden carabiner locks for theft-relevant zippers.
Improved carabiner locks with lighter and more robust carabiners to secure all theft-relevant zippers.

Frequently Asked Questions about this product
FAQ
Here you’ll find answers to questions other customers have asked:
I only need to pack a few items. Is the 20L Element backpack enough for me?
Of course, it can be difficult to assess your own needs. That’s why we always provide all the storage dimensions. The Element backpacks differ in their back systems. The 20L version is narrower and shorter, making it ideal for petite individuals who are approximately 1.75 m tall or shorter. For people with a longer spine, we strongly recommend the 30L version, even if you don’t need that much storage space. A high-quality backpack with a carrying system must, above all, fit properly.
I'm well over 6 feet tall and would like the 20L Element. Will I still be able to carry it?
Since the Element 20L backpack is designed for slimmer, smaller body types, the length of your spine is a key factor. Taller people can still have short backs, but the 20L backpack will likely sit too high on your hips. Thanks to the removable hip belt, you can wear the backpack without it and, if necessary, achieve a comfortable fit. The 30L version will likely provide the best fit.
I love how comfortable the Element backpack is. But when I'm flying or going about my daily routine, the hip belt bothers me sometimes.
We know exactly what you mean. That’s why all Element backpacks come with a removable hip belt. So you can use it as needed or pack it separately in your backpack or suitcase when traveling by plane.
How do I remove the ShiftPro hipbelt from the backpack?
You'll find attachment straps on the left and right outer flaps of the hip belt. You can unthread these. Next, reach your hand into the opening between the back panel and the hip belt itself. There is an internal Velcro section here. You can release this with your fingers. Then you can simply pull the ShiftPro hip belt out to either side.
Can the new padding on the model 2.0 securely hold my gear in place?
With very compact lenses, small cameras, and slim accessories, a precise fit inside a camera backpack is especially important. That’s why we’ve completely redesigned the interior padding. Now there are numerous folding sections in all padding sizes. The padding provides ideal protection, takes up less space inside the bag, and can, for example, closely follow the contours of your camera to secure and organize it perfectly.
