The Element backpack is therefore designed around a specially developed carrying system that is unique among camera backpacks.
Ergonomically optimized for people up to approx. 175 cm tall, it guarantees an optimal fit for shorter backs. The Element backpack 20L can also be carried by taller people, but taller people should prefer the Element backpack 30L to take advantage of the relief provided by the ShiftPro hip belt.

I only want to stow a small amount of equipment. Is the 20L Element backpack spacious enough for me?
Of course, it is difficult to assess your needs. That's why you'll always find all the storage space dimensions here. The Element backpacks differ in their back system. The 20L version is narrower and shorter, making it ideal for petite people around 1.75 metres tall and under. For people with a longer spine, we strongly recommend the 30L version, even if you don't need as much storage space. A sophisticated backpack with a carrying system must first and foremost fit.
I am well over 1.80m tall and would like to have the 20L Element. Can I still wear it?
As the Element backpack 20L is designed for narrower, smaller body proportions, the length of your spine is crucial. Tall people can still have short backs, but the 20L backpack will tend to sit too high on your hips. Thanks to the removable hip belt, you can wear the backpack without it and possibly achieve sufficient comfort for yourself. The fit will probably only be optimal with the 30L version.
I love the comfort of the Element backpack. But the hip belt bothers me when flying or in everyday life.
We understand exactly what you mean. That's why all Element backpacks have a detachable hip belt. So you can use it as required or carry it separately in your rucksack/suitcase when traveling by plane.
How do I remove the ShiftPro hip belt?
You will find fastening straps on the left and right outer fins of the hip belt. You can unthread these. Then reach with your hand into the passage between the back system and the hip belt itself. There is a Velcro area on the inside. You can loosen this with your fingers. The ShiftPro hip belt can then simply be pulled out to either side.
