Its size-adjustable heavy-duty carrying system, integrated aluminum frame, and massive dimensions mean a significantly different focus for the Element trekkpacks compared to the Element backpacks.

External Features & Heavy-Duty Performance

• Constructed for maximum loads: The heart of the CarryLite ergo Max carrying system is a firmly integrated aluminum inner frame. It ensures unyielding stability and efficiently transfers the weight of extremely heavy equipment to your hips. Together with the 3D AirMesh and the memory foam padding, it protects your back and shoulders where normal backpacks give up. The system is continuously adjustable to torso lengths from approx. 40 cm to 47 cm. For transport in an airplane or car, the ShiftPro V2 hip belt can be easily removed. When in use, we naturally always recommend using the belt.
• Indestructible weather protection: To protect your equipment in the deepest thicket or on rough rock, the outer shell consists of recycled ReGen AX R2 Carbon and extremely abrasion-resistant 1650D Ballistic Nylon. For uncomfortable weather conditions, a removable mud and rain cover is integrated into the bottom, which can be cleaned and dried separately.
• Flexible access to your pro setup: The massive Trekk 50L XL IGU (camera storage unit) offers you lightning-fast access to your setup via three independent flaps (left, right, top). In the lid of the side access, there are clever storage compartments for batteries or lens caps.
• Expedition details: The two extra-large hip belt pockets keep your smartphone and GPS always within reach. On the front, there are attachment loops for trekking poles, while the toploader cap features a weatherproof zipper pocket and a bungee cord system for climbing or bicycle helmets. Three massive handles ease handling, even when the backpack is fully loaded.
• Large-volume outer pockets: The deep stretch outer pockets are designed for heavy tripods, gimbals, or large water bottles. The side bellows pocket features an H2O pass-through for your hydration system.

• Removable, stable protection: The removable Trekk 50L XL IGU handles the uncompromising protection of your heavy telephoto lenses. If you remove the camera unit completely, the robust backpack shell turns into a classic, enormously spacious trekking backpack for your complete camping setup. The backpack can be loaded either through the large openings on the front and back.
• Transport extremely long equipment: Since the IGU can be opened upwards, you can seamlessly connect the space with the toploader if necessary. As a result, in exceptional cases, extreme telephoto lenses or pieces of equipment with a length of up to 80 cm can be transported inside.
• Expandable toploader volume: With normal camera loading, the upper toploader area offers plenty of space for a change of clothes or a bivouac with a compact sleeping bag. If you take less photo gear with you, the space for your travel luggage naturally increases to the same extent.
• Storage space organization: Despite the enormous capacities, thanks to the front organizer and the numerous mesh and zipper pockets on the storage space front flap, you never lose track of your small-item accessories.
• Smart extras: The padded multimedia compartment is designed for large laptops up to 16 inches (up to a case depth of 27 cm). Behind the back section, there is also a removable outdoor insulation mat for comfortable breaks, even on cold, rocky, or muddy ground.

Cameras

Thanks to the enormous volume, you can easily transport several camera body setups in parallel – from high-end cine cameras to compact backup systems:

• Modern mirrorless systems: Highly efficient and popular bodies like the Sony Alpha 7 IV, Canon EOS R6 Mark II, or the Nikon Z8 fit effortlessly. More compact reportage cameras (e.g., Fujifilm X-T5 or X100VI) also travel safely.
• Professional DSLRs: Large full-frame bodies like the Nikon D850 or the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV can be flexibly integrated into the main compartment system.
• Medium format systems: Even extremely high-resolution professional cameras like the Fujifilm GFX100 II or a Hasselblad X2D 100C can be stowed away without any problems.
• Important note: If you use camera bodies that exceed a total height of 16-17 cm, this may affect the maximum depth and thickness of the laptop compartment used in parallel.

Lenses

The centerpiece of the backpack is the specially developed Trekk 50 XL IGU camera storage unit. It protects your optics in rough terrain and offers enormous capacities:

• Maximum length: You can transport long telephoto lenses with a total length of up to approx. 54 cm directly in the Trekk 50 XL IGU.
• The toploader expansion: If you open the top quick access of the IGU and connect it to the backpack toploader, the storage space expands upwards. In exceptional cases, this allows extreme telephoto optics with a length of up to 80 cm to be transported in the backpack.
• Quick access to common optics: Fast standard zooms (such as a 70–200 mm f/2.8) can be stored transversely. Depending on your individual padding layout, you can reach them lightning-fast via any of the three independent quick accesses of the IGU.

Accessories & Outdoor Equipment

In addition to your camera equipment, the backpack offers excellent storage space for your self-sufficient multi-day tour without you having to make compromises:

• Digital workspace: The protected laptop compartment securely holds notebooks up to approx. 16 inches, such as the MacBook Pro (from 2019 onwards). A maximum case depth of about 27 cm is possible.
• Drone technology: A full drone kit, for example for a DJI Mavic 4 Pro or even a DJI Avata 360, travels easily in the interior.
• Expandable trekking volume: You can expand the backpack in no time at all via the flexible toploader area. Your trekking sleeping bag, sleeping pad/bivouac, fresh change of clothes, or provisions find their place here. A bungee cord is also available on the lid of the toploader, ideal for fixing a climbing or bicycle helmet if required or for drying damp clothing that you do not want to transport inside the backpack.
• Tripods & Hiking Essentials: The extra-generous, robust stretch outer pockets keep your water bottle, tripod, or gimbal securely in place. Special pole attachments are integrated on the front left and right for your trekking poles. In addition, there is of course an H2O pass-through for a hydration bladder, which you can place in the side bellows pocket.
• Small parts management: You can clearly organize filters, batteries, documents, or gloves in the side bellows pocket, the deep slip pocket, and the extra-large organizer pocket on the front of the backpack. The secure slots in the flap of the side quick access are also very handy. Lens caps, memory cards, and the like are extra easy to reach.
