What is X-Pac?
The exterior shell of the Element Line is made from sailcloth used by hightech racing sail boats. This fabric called XPac, developed by the world market leader from Kempen, Germany, is inherently waterproof and incredibly light thanks to its innovative laminate construction. The vegan XPac VX21 boasts the highest strength-to-weight ratio on the market. XPac is extremely tough, durable and incredibly light. The ideal choice for any demanding user not willing to compromise in these aspects.
Why is X-Pac so superior?
- X-Pac is significantly lighter than Cordura alternatives
- X-Pac will absorb much less water than Cordura fabrics and thus will not get heavier over time in damp conditions. Due to its interior waterproof barrier layer it is an ideal choice for users who prioritize lightness and weather resistance
- X-Pac waterproofing is more durable as it features an interior barrier within its laminate construction instead of exterior waterproof coatings which will wear off but are commonly used on competing fabrics
- X-Pac features a more rigid structure due to its X-Ply layer, providing a signature performance, durability and a extraordinary look

Yes, I own this Element Sling and the Element pounch. Agreed that it is a very practical & thoughful design.
Built is 1st grade.
The inner is good enough to house 2 camera with lens attached. 1) a Fujifilm X-H1 with battery grip & with 90mm F2 attached. 2) a Fujifilm X-Pro 3 with 16mm F1.4 attached. A good number of extra battery & filters too.
Peak Design Carbon tripod in case is put at the roll top section. I prefer it in roll top than attaching sling bottom for protection.
Last but not the least. This Sling is still comforable to wear with all the above gear inside.
To Complete the Story of the Lost Bag
To complete the story I posted in September, the lost bag was eventually delivered by our local (and not so efficient) mail. I emailed Compagnon for instructions and was told to keep both bags at no extra charge. You cannot ask for better customer service or value than these guys provide! Here's to you, Compagnon. Well done!
Great product, excellent customer service
Purchased the Element sling 15 directly from Compagnon. When it got lost in the mail and never delivered a replacement bag was immediately sent by the company at their initiative and expense. Their absolutely flawless customer service was just icing on the cake – the bag truly is an excellent product. Highly recommended.
Tolle Tasche !
Lange habe ich auf diese Tasche gewartet, aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt: Für das Segment der Sling-Taschen/Rucksäcke eine echte Bereicherung !
Was geht rein ? Bei mir eine Fuji X-H1 mit Batteriegriff inklusive der bei mir beliebten "3er-Zoom-Kombination" XF 8-16, 16-55 und 50-140 mm oder auch zwei X-Pro2 mit bis zu 6 Objektiven plus jeweils diverses Zubehör (Akkus, Ladegeräte, Filter, usw.) .
In den Top-Loader passt auch ein Reise-Stativ oder eben auch das eine oder andere Kleidungsstück, wobei man immer an die Kamera kommt ohne den Top-Loader öffnen zu müssen.
Die Einstellung der Gurte war am Anfang für mich nicht selbsterklärend, aber nach einer Antwort auf eine Rückfrage-Email binnen ganz kurzer Reaktionszeit habe ich mich zurechtgefunden. Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sind vielfältig und der Tragekomfort ist hoch. Die Tasche lässt sich auch an der Hüfte stabilisieren.
Die Tasche passt in meine Auswahl von unterschiedlichen Taschen für unterschiedliche Anforderungen/Einsätze und ich bin froh über eine Sling-Tasche dieser Größe !
